Exploring the Impact of Organizational Culture Types on the Introduction of Artificial Intelligence: A Q Methodology Study

Abstract

Introducing new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) can often evoke apprehension among organizational members. This apprehension stems from the uncertainty of adapting to a new work environment or concerns about potential job displacement. Consequently, the integration of new technology faces significant obstacles. While some studies have identified research gaps in this area, most research primarily focuses on the application of the technology itself. There remains a lack of comprehensive understanding regarding how organizations adopt AI and the primary mechanisms through which value is generated. To address this gap, this study embarked on a preliminary exploratory investigation. Utilizing the Q method, we collected samples from 50 individuals for analysis. Our objective was to categorize corporate cultures that influence the adoption of AI into five distinct categories. By doing so, we aimed to discern which organizational cultures are conducive to the successful introduction of AI. Ultimately, this study seeks to offer practical recommendations for enterprises to expedite the adoption and application of AI within their operations.
